Family portrait

family-portrait-photo

We had our portrait taken at the Garden Gate Music Day by Brendan using his caravan camera. The result speaks for itself, at a whopping 40cm x 50cm (approx.) we love it and all they asked for was a donation to the Garden Gate Project.

For those of you who haven’t heard of this wonderful community garden project, please find out more about the Garden Gate Project on their website & Facebook.

I picked up the frame for £2 at the Palm Bay Bootfair this morning, cleaned it up and we think it works.

Oil paint drying rack

We are running out of drying space for the oil paintings so there was a need to be creative with our space.

I have a few oil paintings on the go, each at various stages and each drying at different speeds, some thin some thick.

I looked up some solutions and decided that a vertical rack type thing would work best for is. Here it is at the top left of this photo, there is only 2 paintings on it at the moment just to see if it works. I’ll make some more holes, to hold about 15 or so paintings I guess.

Also in the photo is a couple of winter paintings of our daughtets. Hopefully they will turn into full colour portraits before too long…

Margate Caves Postcard Auction – after the event

anns collage

So the Harbour Arm Auction in aid of the Margate Caves has been and gone. All of the lots were sold, making it a white glove sale, wahoo! They raised around £7000, a fantastic amount to help with the reopening of the Caves. Now it might be ok to reveal which postcards Ann and I created…

You can see the entirety of the catalog in an online version.

And you can find out more about the caves on their website.

So… what’s next? Ideas on a postcard please…

So excited that Tracey Emin will be at Turner Contemporary

Unmade bed photo

I know her art work, especially ‘My Bed’ remains controversial, and will still cause a lot of rolling eyes, tutting and shaking heads when it comes to the Turner Contemporary next month, but I can’t wait. I can see me having a lot of conversations with friends and family about is this art? Well, whatever it is, I like it. I think I understand Emin. Welcome home to Margate Tracey…. #musttidymyroom.
